| Derek Frechette
You wouldn’t think that a Prairie-born son of a family known for dairy farming would end up at the top of a Canadian helicopter skiing totem pole. This is only one accomplishment to which Manitoba-born Derek Frechette can lay claim. Combining athletic ability and his studies in Business Administration at Okanagan College and Capilano College, Derek embarked on a 12-year career in the outdoor recreation and leisure industry. Initially Derek managed a rafting company and led multi-day white water rafting expeditions throughout the Canadian west, and as far north as the Beaufort Sea. He enjoyed a burgeoning career, becoming operations manager for the single largest heli-skiing company in the world. Derek’s natural leadership and keen eye for coordination found him at the helm of the Powder Eight World Championships for five consecutive years.

He has conducted summer training programs for the Canadian Olympic Freestyle Ski Team as well as the Canadian National (downhill) Racing Team; and has worked alongside film crews such as Warren Miller Entertainment, Willi Bogner, the Sacred Ride and TSN. In his guiding career Derek had the pleasure of catering to celebrities such as John Cussak and Neve Campbell, royalty such as Princess Caroline of Monaco, and the Aga Khan and Princess Zahra.
This world-class experience has given Frechette a keen eye for lifestyle elements that define high-end amenities.
A Kelowna resident since 1985, Derek has strong connections and roots to the city and has seen it grow into one of Canada’s most desirable places to live. A people-person, Derek works closely and diligently with clients to find the ideal real estate to suit their needs. |
